About

Cooking and baking doesn’t have to be scary and you certainly don’t have to be an expert to know how to make some tasty things in the kitchen. We are Liz and Allison and we are here to help show you all how to get Pie Drunk! Getting Pie Drunk can be achieved through pie in all its forms whether your pies be lattice, open faced, hand, savory, bars, or pizza. With Pie Drunk, Liz and I will show you how to whip up some delicious grub (fair warning: some food may not be in pie form) from your very own kitchen encompassing all skill levels of cookery and hey, maybe you’ll even learn a few things along the way. From our rainy kitchens in Seattle, we will share our passion for food and drink and probably some of our quirkiness in between. Like a quirk sandwich, if you will.

I’m Liz, and I adore pie--all food really--but pie is in the top five along with parsnips and bacon.  When I’m not eating or cooking, I enjoy live music, museums, and podcasts.  When I am eating and cooking all of my food is gluten and dairy free (cow dairy specifically).
The whole reason I started to get serious about teaching myself to cook, was to have apple pie again.  Thanks to apple pie, the magic of the internet, and a roommate who suggested I take some initiative and figure out baking again (in very kind words), I get to lead a delicious and carb filled life.  I’m NOT a gluten free expert, but I’m happy to share what works for me.

I’m Allison and in addition to being a pie fiend, I also find mirth in rock climbing, Russian literature, and writing correspondence. My ultimate favorite food is applesauce and nothing will disagree with my palette more than chocolate. Yes, I know it’s a sin! But have you ever seen the movie Matilda (and yes, the one with Danny Devito)? If you have, you might be able to comprehend where my disdain of chocolate comes from: Bruce and chocolate cake. I don’t think I need to say more…
I was a baker for several years and after failing to pay my rent in scones and croissants, I transitioned into my boring office job to compensate. Pie Drunk is a tribute to my original love for food and all things edible (minus the chocolate) so remember to check in and see what we got cooking!
